Who Are We?

Hi, I’m Sharon Leibowitz, and I’m the founder of Every Card Counts.

This initiative began unexpectedly.
The opportunity came up to join a shuk tour of Israeli artisans traveling along the East Coast, stopping in different communities.

Wanting to take part, I woke up one morning with the idea for the Aroma Card Initiative for soldiers—Hanukkah was right around the corner.

I created a flyer, printed it on a large poster board, and set up a table with colorful gel pens and stationery so people could write cards of thanks and well-wishes to our soldiers.

In just two weeks, we sold 400 cards.

The real joy came afterward—returning to Israel and surprising soldiers on the street, on base, and in rehab centers.
Seeing their faces light up from one small, unexpected gift was priceless.

Growing up, my mom created quiet moments of care, always leaving little surprises on our beds while we were at school.
That stayed with me and inspired this initiative.

Making aliyah is a process, and there is nothing quite like having children in the army—especially during wartime.

As someone who never had the privilege of serving, this initiative is my way of honoring those who do—by making one small moment stand out.

Join me in bringing more of these moments.
Thank you.
